The Isocentric Data Center (IDC) uses Liebert chilled water HVAC (Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning) equipment in an N+1 redundant configuration, ensuring that a duplicate system can immediately come online in the event of an HVAC system failure. Additional Liebert units are pre-staged in the facility for rapid expansion to accommodate increases in server density. The Liebert systems provide tight control of both temperature and humidity in the IDC.
The availability and reliability of the air-handling systems are enhanced through parallel and redundant chilled water sources. The primary chilled water source is provided by TRIGEN, a local co-generation provider of chilled water and steam for the downtown Tulsa business district. In addition, the ONEOK Plaza building maintains its own independent chilling system with two redundant chillers. At least one of these units is always on standby and can be rapidly cycled online. The chilling system is frequently tested to maximize reliability.
